Nordic Finance has entered into a financing agreement worth SEK 2 billion with BNP Paribas and Kennedy Lewis Investment Management, an institutional alternative investment firm with USD 25 billion in assets under management. This financing marks an important milestone for Nordic Finance by enhancing its ability to provide capital for leasing and rental solutions to SMEs.

The financing is designed to meet the needs of SMEs for flexible funding solutions at a time when many businesses face challenges finding growth capital. Nordic Finance will use the new funds to enable more investments in leasing and rental financing. Rather than simply filling a financing gap, Nordic Finance prioritises prudent risk assessment and selective capital allocation to ensure sustainable growth for both SMEs and its own portfolio.
Challenges and Opportunities for the SME Segment
After a period of financial tightening, many SMEs in Sweden are now seeing a brighter future, with increasing investment willingness. However, companies in the SME segment often face challenges in finding the right financing. In 2024, 8.3 % of Swedish businesses reported that they could not finance their investments or operations on the desired terms. The most common reason for this was a rejection of their financing application . Meanwhile, alternative financial solutions have gained traction across Europe. Initiatives like this one from Nordic Finance are important for bridging the financing gap many businesses face when traditional banks are not enough.
Nordic Finance plans to continue filling its loan portfolio over the coming years with the aim of supporting a wide range of businesses. With the support of BNP Paribas and Kennedy Lewis, Nordic Finance looks forward to expanding its offerings and making it easier for businesses to access financing.
